MOCKINGBURGH POLL: ARLEN SPECTER'S NEW BOOK
In a forthcoming book, former Senator Arlen Specter complains about not being acknowledged by President Obama at an event, and "ignominious" treament from Senate colleagues. He also calls for open primaries in which voters may choose to cast ballots in either party's primary, claiming, "If Pennsylvania had followed such a course, I would not have had to switch parties." What do you think of his claim?
87% - Arlen can think what he wants, but he would come in third in a two-man open primary
13% - I don't think you're allowed to print what I think

MOCKINGBURGH POLL: WHAT WILL BE THE MOST COMMON TWEET FROM THE JERRY SANDUSKY HEARING?
A BLOGGER'S DILEMMA: GO FOR MORE HITS, OR DON'T WRITE ABOUT TERRELL SUGGS?
COMMENTARY - We here at Mockingburgh pride ourselves on covering Pittsburgh, greater Pittsburgh, and, of course, the Steelers. But week in and week out, one previous article keeps rising to the top of the 'most viewed posts' statistics: the one and only article that mentions Terrell Suggs of the Ravens. He's so popular he may even be ahead of Troy Polamalu in search terms (but certainly not on the football field - no need to go totally crazy here).
So what's a blogger to do? Go for the gaudy numbers and write about Terrell Suggs, or ignore him? Delete that one post about him and chase away all the Baltimore fans?
Nah. There's a happy compromise - write another post about Mr. Suggs, double my hits, give Baltimore fans double the content, and still get Troy Polamalu's name into the article. Baltimore fans might not be totally happy about it, and Pittsburgh fans won't like any mention of him at all, but there is one thing both Steelers and Ravens fans can agree on: Cleveland always sucks.
MOCKINGBURGH POLL: OCCUPY PITTSBURGH'S 'EVICTION' OF MELLON BANK
On Monday, Occupy Pittsburgh 'evicted' Mellon Bank from their own property, calling the bank "a criminal enterprise masquerading as a respectable instituiton." What do you think of this action?
87% - Pointless, silly grandstanding
13% - Occupy should have evicted Pirates' ownership - now there's a movement a lot of people would get behind
